Riverfront & Allen Creek
|
The City of Ann Arbor is just starting to take advantage of the tremendous opportunity provided by the State of Michigan's Brownfield Redevelopment legislation.
The first project to go through this process, Lower Town, has been approved by the
City of Ann Arbor. The public has learned a considerable amount about what brownfields are, what can be done to
clean up these properties, and the other public improvements that can be made.

HURON RIVERFRONT & ALLEN CREEK
An Urban Redevelopment Opportunity
|
Peter Allen has identified an area in downtown Ann Arbor that is ripe
for redevelopment, along N. Main St. Currently the site of the City of Ann Arbor's City Yard, a very
blighted property, it is in a great location just a couple blocks from downtown
(see map). The City is planning on
building a new facility in Pittsfield Township. The picture at left shows a conceptual development
plan for this property. The eastern boundary of the project is N. Main St., with E. Summit to the north,
and Felch St. to the south. This mixed-use development, steps away from downtown, would combine
residential living with small neighborhood shops, office space, and recreation opportunities.
More details on this project will be listed in the future. If you are interesting in
more information about this opportunity, please contact Peter Allen at 734.996.8821
